Aldershot is referred to as the ‘Home of the British Army’ and is located in North Hampshire. It is a 10 minute drive from both the M3 and the A3 providing easy access to the M25, Central London, the South Coast and beyond. The railway station
is only a few minutes walk from the town centre and there are connections to London, the South East and beyond. There are regular coach and bus services in and out of Aldershot. With several car parks available, Aldershot is ideal for a visit and has an abundance of amenities available including: shopping centres with all the usual well known retailers and independent traders, supermarkets, leisure centres, cinemas and theatres. The Aldershot Urban Extension (AUE)
The Aldershot Urban Extension (AUE) is in the southern part of the military town and north of Aldershot town centre. It covers around 150 hectares and is one of the largest brownfield regeneration sites in the south east of England.
The development of the AUE will create a sustainable new community in a high quality landscape and contribute to the regeneration of Aldershot town centre. It will provide around 4000 new homes, 35% of which will be affordable, along with two new primary schools, a local centre, community facilities, household waste recycling centre and recreational space. North Camp is at the north end of Aldershot and borders on the Farnborough area. There is an array of well known retailers and independent retailers selling a range of products and services such as tropical fish, uniform suppliers, motorcycle centres and fabric shops. Due to it’s location, it is ideally placed for bus and train services to surrounding towns including Farnborough, Camberley and Guildford.
Farnborough town centre is connected by three main shopping areas; two malls, Kings Mead and Princes Mead and a pedestrian precinct Queens Mead. Retailers include Debenhams, ASDA, Boots, W H Smiths, Argos, JJB Sports, New Look
and Sainsbury’s. There is an outdoor market every Tuesday in Princes Mead. B&Q, PC World and the Solartron Retail Park are a short walk from ASDA. Farnborough Gate Retail Park is a 10 minute drive away and has retailers such as Next, Outfit, Boots, TKMaxx and Halfords
Cove is located a few minutes drive from Farnborough and has a few local shops offering groceries, papers and takeaways.
Fleet offers a wide selection of independent retailers alongside well-known high street names such as Marks and Spencer Food, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s. The Hart Shopping Centre is located in the heart of the town and offers retailers such as Next, Boots, New Look and a number of coffee shops. A market is held on Ghurka Square every Saturday. There are a number of pubs and restaurants in Fleet including ASK, Pizza Express and We and it is an ideal location for a night out with the family. There is also a very popular nightclub called Jaxx.
There is a small range of retailers available in Church Crookham for residents of Quetta Park and Humphrey Park and these include a TESCO Express, an off licence, a pharmacy and a number of takeaways. Fleet town centre is a short drive away.
There is a number of small retailers available on the main road just a short walk from Churchill Crescent. These include TESCO Express and a good supply of take aways. Camberley town centre and the Meadows Retail Park which has a 24 hour TESCO and Marks and Spencers are just a short drive away.
Farnham is a quaint market town easily accessed from both Aldershot and Church Crookham. Shops are located along a traditional High Street and there are several specialist shops to visit including crafts, designer lighting, designer clothing, a delicatessen and a butchers. There are several cafés and bistros in the town. On the first Saturday of each month a craft and antique fair with over 200 stalls is held in The Maltings.
The Festival Place shopping centre, just off Junction 6 of the M3, has a wide choice of retailers with over 165 shops, 20 restaurants, bars and cafes to sample, a 10 screen cinema and a premium night club. The Leisure Park, located on the ring road on the outskirts of Basingstoke town centre, offers a wide range of activities including ice skating, bingo and bowls. It is home to a multiplex cinema, a bowling alley and a swimming pool.
The Friary Shopping Centre has 63 retailers including BHS, The Disney Store, Sports Soccer, The Perfume Shop and HMV. North Street connects the Friary Shopping Centre with the Tunsgate Square Shopping Centre and the White Lion Walk. Guildford boasts many specialist retailers such as Lakeland and Links of London and there is a vast array of restaurants, cafes and bars.
The Oracle Shopping Centre has a wide choice of fashion and lifestyle brands with over 90 top name shops, over 25 restaurants, cafes and bars and a 10 screen cinema.
